Professor Baker (above center) has a martial arts lineage which includes direct lines to Grand Masters Ed Parker & Kalaii Kano Griffin, as well as Professor Ibrahim Sharif extending to Dr. Moses Powell & Professor Ronald Duncan.
With over 53 years experience in the martial arts, Baker is a 10th Degree Black Belt in Chito Ryu certified by the American Karate Association (AKA) and a 10th Dan in Combat Ju-Jitsu under Professor Ibrahim Sharif. He holds additional ranks in Kenpo Karate and more.
Professor Baker is the proprietor of Baker's Red Iron Dragon Karate Academy at the UFC Gym, 498 Main St, Orange, NJ 07050 and is the founder of the Fusion Kenpo system.
Grand Master Burke is a 9th Degree Black Belt & President/Founder of the American Style Nunchaku Federation (ASNF).
In 1976 Burke earned his first Black Belt in Okinawa Karate and went on to win multiple weapons tournaments utilizing Nunchaku throughout the 1970's & 1980's.
Now, with over 50 years in the martial arts Grand Master Burke has Nunchaku students all over the world.
Hanshi Bethers is a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army & a 9th Degree Black Belt in Us-Ju-Jitsu. He is also ranked in multiple styles, including but not limited to; Judo, Kendo, Karate-Do and Ching Yi Kung Fu.
Hanshi Bethers is President of both the United States Martial Arts Federation (USMAF) & United States Ju-Jitsu Federation (USJJF) as well as an author of multiple martial arts books and manuals.
Sensei Hawkins, Sr. got his start in the arts at the East Orange School of Martial Arts under Professor Ibrahim Sharif and has achieved a 4th degree Black Belt in Chito Ryu. Moreover, himself now exceeding 80 years of age, Hawkins still finds time to periodically get on the dojo floor and also enjoys the archery aspects of Kobudo.
Never forgetting the ideals of fairness, hard work & justice, Hawkins, Sr. has carried the principals of martial arts into his professional career as prominent civil rights attorney and former New Jersey State Assemblyman.
Sensei Shakir holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Fusion Kenpo and a 2nd Dan in Chinese Kenpo Kung-Fu under Professor Harry Baker & Shihan Eldridge Hawkins, Jr.
Although Shakir has involved herself with a variety of other pursuits, she has remained connected to the martial arts for over 20 years.
Accordingly, whether she is in the dojo training or counseling families through her primary vocation, the spirit of martial arts remains a grounding factor in her life.
Shihan Hawkins is the Founder of Ken-Fu Nunchaku Jutsu; Vice President - United States Martial Arts Federation; International Training Director for the American Style Nunchaku Federation; U.S. Representative & Advisor to the Hong Kong Nunchaku Association; Senior Weapons Instructor - Baker's Red Iron Dragon; and CEO of Black Belt Security & Investigations, LLC.
Shihan Hawkins holds a 7th Degree Black Belt in American Style Nunchaku (ASNF, IKSA, AKA); 6th Dan - Combat Ju-Jitsu (USJJF); 5th Dan - Fusion Kenpo (AKA); 5th Dan - US Ju-Jitsu (USJJF); & a 4th Dan in Chinese Kenpo Kung-Fu (USMAF).
Sifu Armstrong (pictured above left) is an 8th degree Black Belt in Fusion Kenpo. He also holds rank in Chinese Kenpo Kung-Fu and Chito Ryu. Armstrong is Professor Baker’s most senior instructor and specializes in training security K-9’s (dogs) for searching or patrol work.
Sifu Rashidi is a life long martial artist holding a 7th degree Black Belt in Fusion Kenpo as well as Black Belt rank in Chinese Kenpo Kung-Fu and Chito Ryu.
Master Jerry Lau has a long history in the martial arts and is world renowned for his skill with the Nunchaku. He is President of the Hong Kong Nunchaku Association and is committed to international partnerships and sharing of martial arts knowledge worldwide.
As such, Master Lau has been a guest instructor & participant in the American Style Nunchaku/Ken-Fu Nunchaku Jutsu international seminars.
Founded by Milco Lambrecht in the Netherlands (1963), the World Nunchaku Association (WNA) promotes the sport around the globe and has branches in many countries. To clearly distinguish Nunchaku-do from other nunchaku sports, it is sometimes referred to as “WNA Nunchaku-do” or “WNA style nunchaku”.
Shihan E. Hawkins has been influenced by the WNA style and continues to share knowledge between the systems through international partnerships.
Shihan Chris Pellitteri is a recognized expert in the martial arts and a specialist in Nunchakau. Himself, a 9th Degree Black Belt, Pellitteri is President/Founder of the American Kobudo Association & the North American Nunchaku Association (NANA), one of the most recognizable Nunchaku organizations in the world per Black Belt Magazine.
Effective November 2022, NANA has certified Ken-Fu Nunchaku Jutsu as an official Nunchaku system of martial arts.
Professor Aaron Walker (pictured above center) is owner of AJW Martial Arts, has over 40 years of training in the arts of Shito Ryu Karate, Aiki-Jitsu, Kickboxing, Kobu-Jitsu and more.
Professor Walker’s dojo has been a host of Ken-Fu Nunchaku Jutsu seminars by Shihan E. Hawkins, Jr. as well as multiple video tapings for the online VirtualNunchaku tournament forms learning platform.
The International Karate Schools of America (IKSA) founded by Master Floyd Burk and led by Danny Chapman (10th Dan, Senior Grand Master, Co-Executive Director IKSA) & Lisa Heitke (9th Dan, Grand Master, Co-Executive Director, IKSA) issued a school charter recognizing the Ken-Fu system and its founder, Shihan Hawkins, as an instructor in good standing.
The IKSA also hosts periodic training events with Bill "Superfoot" Wallace and other notable marital artists that Ken-Fu practitioners can attend in the future.
Professor Ibrahim Sharif, 10th Dan (pictured above left at Way of The Winds 2020) is one of the few Black Belts to study or receive rank under Professor James Cheatham, Dr. Moses Powell, and Professor Ronald Duncan.
Prof. Sharif promoted Harry Baker to Professor/10th Dan in December of 2018. Baker (pictured above right) is the 1st teacher of Ken-Fu system founder Eldridge Hawkins, Jr.
UFC Gym owner Amir Hashemi, pictured above far right at the USA Karate/USA Unified Martial Arts Hall of Fame awards dinner & induction ceremony for Ken-Fu founder Shihan Eldridge Hawkins, Jr., has partnered with Black Belt Security & Investigations, LLC to provide a full array of martial arts training through Baker's Red Iron Dragon Fusion Kenpo Academy.
The UFC Gym located at 498 Main St, Orange, NJ 07050, is also the International Training Headquarters for the Ken-Fu Nunchaku Jutsu self-defense system & American Style Nunchaku Federation.
